Luo Si leads a research group working on exciting topics of information retrieval, machine learning, intelligent tutoring, text/data mining for life science, and natural language processing. He has published more than 100 journal and conference papers. His research has been supported by National Science Foundation, State of Indiana, Purdue University and industry companies such as Yahoo! and Google. He is an associate editor of ACM Transactions on Information System (TOIS), ACM Transactions on Interactive Information Systems (TIIS) and an editorial board member of Information Processing and Management (IPM). He has been an Area Chair for ACM SIGIR (2007-2010), WWW (2011) and CIKM (2008,2010).

 

Looking for motivated graduate students with good machine learning and/or statistics to do information retrieval, machine learning and bioinformatics research (beginning in Fall or Spring semesters). Please send me emails.
