What's New?

Projects: The project is due (electronically) Monday December 11th, 2000. A list of suggested projects is available here. The project presentations are scheduled for November 27th in class; December 4th in class; December 5th 7 PM; and December 6th in class. Each group will have 15 minutes to give an overview of the goals of their project and their accomplishments. If you would also like to schedule a demo to show me your project running, please e-mail me.

Talk: Shivkumar Kalyanarman from RPI will talk about Edge-based Traffic Management (TM) Building Blocks for The Internet on December 18th, 2000, 2 PM in CS 101. See this web page for an abstract of the talk. Let me know if you can meet with him.

Quiz: The third quiz was on Monday November 20th, 2000, in class. Solutions were discussed in class.

Slides: The slides shown in class will be regularly posted on the Schedule Web Page before each class.

Mailing List: The class mailing list is cs590f
The addresses initially on the list were obtained from the surveys handed out on the first class, the latest class roster 8/28/2000, and surveys I got through e-mail. If you have dropped/stopped attending the class and would like to unsubscribe from the list, please use "mailer" (man mailer). Also if you prefer another e-mail address than the one you are getting this message on, please unsubscribe yourself from this account and then re-subscribe using the other account.

Student Survey: Please fill out a survey at Student Survey (print and give me a hard copy or e-mail me) if you have not already given me one. Students not registered but attending the class should also fill out a survey and indicate they are just sitting in.

Paper Selection: The paper assignments for presentations are available on the Schedule Web Page. You are encouraged to read related papers to put your assigned paper in context and be able to effectively critique it. Use the search methods we discussed in class [PDF] and stop by my office to discuss your plan/slides. Also see Giving a good research talk.
