Differentiated Services
A Service defines some significant characteristics
of packet transmisssion across a set of one or more paths in a network
- Service Differentiation to accomodate heterogenous applications, to permit differentiated pricing of Internet service
- The Architecture is composed of a number of functional elements,
including PHBs , packet classification and conditioning as
metering, marking,shaping and policing .PHBs are applied
to aggregates of traffic.
