What are the eigenvalues of $\mA = \bmat{0 & 1 \\ 1 & 0}$?

Solution The matrix $\mA^2 = \mI$, so we know that each eigenvalues is either -1 or 1, or another complex number. We also know that the eigenvalues have to sum to 0 because of the trace property.
Thus, the eigenvalues are -1 and 1.
