For assignment 1 you will create
several web pages, similar to those which you created in CS 190W.
You are required to use your career
account for CS 290W. Your URL must either look like
<http://icdweb.cc.purdue.edu/~lizdole> OR
<http://icdweb.cc.purdue.edu/~lizdole/cs290w> This is required.
To turn in this first assignment, email the URL of your page/site to your TA. The TA assignments will happen this week. An announcement regarding this will be made in class on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

Requirements:
- Two frames, 20%, 80% vertically
- The 20% frame (table of contents) will need to include a Client
Side Image map that demonstrates RECT, POLY, CIRCLE, and DEFAULT, with
links to the other pages in this assignment (Assignments, Links,
Resume, and References) with TARGET= the other frame.
- Use Cascading Style Sheets
- Use External CSS with Linking
- Create a generic class, for example: ".periwinkle {
color: #6699ff }" so that you can apply a number of tags to one class
declaration. This means that you must use at least two tags with the class you defined.
- The 80% frame will need to include your full name, and email
address. Create a table that documents your weekly schedule, from 7:00 am
- 5:00 pm (at least) using TH, CAPTION,
COLSPAN, ROWSPAN, HEIGHT, ALIGN=... for a table cell or row, table cell
background colors or background images, and VALIGN.

Requirements:
- A Bulleted list of your other CS 290W assignments (2-8). Initially
this will just be a list and none of them will be links. But, as the
semester goes along, make each a link to your remaining assignments.
Each time you do, use TARGET= "_top" with those links.
- Must still have the image map / menu bar at left
Page 3 --Favorite Links--
~~~~~
- Include at LEAST 5 links using TARGET= "_top". To avoid copyright issues involved when you load someone elses page into your frame, either cite the owner of the page you are loading, or create five links to pages you own. These can be very ordinary pages for now.
- Must still have the image map / menu bar at left
Page 4 --Resume Page--
~~~~
- A Professional Resume (including but not limited to ... Career
Objective, Work Experience, Education, Activities/Honors/Awards)
- Use Bullets and Headers
- A link at the bottom of the page to the Reference Request page
with TARGET= "_self"
- Must still have the image map / menu bar at left
Page 5 --Reference Request--
~~~~
- A form that requests references for you -- for example, an employer
who is looking at your resume online could fill out this form, which is
sent to you, and request professional and/or personnal references
- *must* include
ACTION=mailto AND use the "ENCTYPE" that was discussed in class Friday, Sept. 3. Also include a TEXT, CHECKBOX, RADIO, SUBMIT, RESET, TEXTAREA, and SELECT BOX
****** Recommended but not required ******
I have included some
suggestions as to how to divide up the requirements, you can use this or
create your own, just as long as you use the above mentioned tags.
- TEXT = name of person or company requesting your references
TEXTAREA = mailing address of person or company requesting
your references
CHECKBOX = do they want a personal letter from you or not?
RADIO buttons = 2 ... requesting type of references, Personal
or Business
SELECT BOX = number of references requested: 1-3, 4-6, 7-10
Be sure to double-check your assignment before you submit it
