Professor Clifton's Policy on Commercial Note Taking

I encourage dissemination of knowledge. To better achieve this goal, and in line with the Purdue University Senate's policy on Commercial Note Taking in Classes, I will allow for-profit sale of notes taken in my classes provided that:

• I am informed that you wish to sell notes taken in class,
• I am provided with an opportunity to review and approve/disapprove of the material before sale, and
• you provide me with an electronic copy of the material, in HTML or PDF format, and with permission to post the material on my own web site and the course web site for use by students and other faculty, free of charge within the Purdue domain.

While I do retain the right to disapprove sale, my intention is to use that right only to correct errors. I am happy to see knowledge shared, and if you put in the effort to generate a saleable set of notes, I am happy to see you profit from doing so provided the above conditions are met.
