The following constitutes the policy governing academic
dishonesty. Any infractions of this code will be dealt with STRICTLY in
accordance with the established rules of Purdue University.
ALL work in this class is individual. There are no group
projects, assignments, or tests. Students should not work together on individual
projects or assignments. Any evidence of copying or illegitimate cooperation
will be considered academic dishonesty and so dealt with.
It is your responsibility to adequately protect your
work. If you need assistance protecting your work, please contact your
TA or instructor. You should read-protect all your work and never share
your password with anyone else.
In cases of academic dishonesty, all parties will be
considered equally responsible.
Programs will be randomly checked for copying using a
tool called MOSS. You are encouraged to read more about MOSS at http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~aiken/moss.html.
You will realize that it is very
difficult to fool this tool. Such random checks are in addition to visual
inspection of the programs by the TAs.
In case of cheating, the course grade is an "F" and the
case is referred to the Dean of Students Office.
