Reviewing: Team 9 Joseph Simons Jeffrey Hagelberg Chris Kanich Dave Easterling Barron Gillon Mike Stucke Reviewed By: Team 4 Elian Haliman Hendra Lim Lucky Rumengan Erika Shehan Nina Tang AI In Video Games - 23 Oct 2002 Intelligent Agents in Game Design Good introduction to the definition of intelligent agents, but how does this relate to the title of your presentation? We would like to see more depth to this section of the presentation. Explain more about R&D in this area, more applications of agents, and also limitations of current agents. Path Finding In Computer Games Good introduction to path finding algorithms. You'd make your CS381 professor proud ;) This section of the presentation was very well prepared. The speaker was knowledgeable about his topic, and presented enthusiastically. Note: Where are your slides? They are not with the rest of the presentation on your team website. Traditional Implementations Some games were mentioned and briefly explained, but none were discussed in enough detail. If you are not a regular player of the games mentioned, some of the presentation isn't clear. Don't assume that we have all played Baldur's Gate! Neural Networking Very brief, and not too in depth, but this may be the case because another team did a presentation on neural networking. This section could have been either more in depth, or cut out of the presentation (and instead you could have focused more on other topics that were presented in more depth). Great job with the tank example! Fuzzy Logic Good introduction to fuzzy logic. This section of the presentation is more in depth than the others. It would have been nice to have seen more examples of applications to computer games. Overall Presentation Review There are quite a few subtopics presented. Some of the topics seemed to be carefully chosen and discussed in depth, yet others were not sufficiently explained. It might be better to cut out a few of the topics, and focus more in depth on the topics remaining. For future presentations, it might also be better to focus on one video game using AI, giving an in depth explanation of how the AI is implemented.
