Poject Abstract At Aero Engine Controls, the verification group tests the software of Electronic Engine Controllers (EEC) (i.e. the brains of a gas turbine engine). The verification group writes verification procedures to determine how the EEC reacts, as required, to various engine conditions. The verification procedures are hand-coded into Python scripts which are then used as input to the Real Time Simulator (RTS). The RTS simulates engine conditions based on the Python scripts. The spring 2011 CS490 AEC project is to create a prototype tool that will take a verification procedure written in plain English and translate it into a Python script. The capability to auto-translate verification procedures into Python scripts has an immediate business effect as it reduces the man hours required for verification and consequently greatly reduces the verification cost to engine programs. |
Project Details The details of this project will be worked out in collaboration with the student team and engineers from AEC. |
