About BITS C461/IS C341 Software Engineering

Make no mistake:

This course requires hard work! It requires many hours of meetings amongst team members outside of the regular class hours in addition to time spent doing homeworks and laboratory assignments. Majority of the students who took this course over the past 10 years are happy that they took it!

Objectives:

  • Add a path from ignorance to knowledge.
  • Teach fundamental principles and techniques used in the development of large software systems.
  • Provide  an opportunity to work in a 2-semester industrially sponsored project in a team-environment.
  • Teach teamwork and presentation skills.

Grading:

Grades assigned to individual students are determined using weekly presentations, design and other documents, team work, quality of the prototype and the product, and technological innovation.
