My name is Ahmed Moustafa Hussein Aly.
I was born on the 26th of April 1984 in Alexandria, Egypt.
Currently I am a Ph.D. student at Purdue University.
I joined the department of Computer Science at Purdue in Fall 2009.
I am interested in the area of spatio-temporal databases.
I am working with Prof. Walid G. Aref and Prof. Mourad Ouzzani.
In 2006 I obtained the B.Sc. in Computer Science from Alexandria University, Alexandria 21544, Egypt with a GPA 3.9.
In 2009 I obtained the M.Sc. in Computer Science from Alexandria University, Alexandria 21544, Egypt with a GPA 3.4.
In Fall 2009 I started my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN 47907, USA. My current GPA is 3.85.
I am working as a research assistant at Purdue University. I am interested in the area of spatio-temporal databases.
I am currently investigating the design of spatio-temporal operators such as range and K-nearest-neighbour operators and trying to realize them on road networks.
Moreover, I am planning to build a query optimizer for pipelines of spatio-temporal queries. The heart of that optimizer should be based on histograms for spatio-temporal data. I have been exploring some ideas for creating and maintaining those histgrams.
