Head, Department of Computer Science
Applications are invited for the position of Head of the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University from dynamic individuals with creative vision. The department has 48 faculty members, with active research programs in algorithms, bioinformatics, databases, distributed and parallel computing, graphics and visualization, information security, machine learning, networking, programming languages and compilers, scientific computing, and software engineering. Department faculty are also heavily involved in University-wide multidisciplinary research. The department has implemented a strategic plan for excellence supported by the higher administration, and has state of the art physical facilities and equipment. The successful candidate will have an exemplary record of scholarly achievement, a history of funded research, and outstanding leadership qualities and administrative abilities. It is expected that candidates for this position will have an earned doctorate and experiences sufficient to merit appointment with tenure at the rank of Full Professor. The Head will work with the faculty towards further advancement of the Department towards excellence in research, teaching, and engagement.
