Summer Workshop for Secondary Teachers
The Linking Mathematics and Computer Science Summer Workshop for Secondary Teachers is a chance for teachers to discover the natural links between math and computer science. Why Should You Attend …
- Computer Science is a unique field of study with a strong foundation in mathematics. You can gain exposure to this exciting discipline that can then be taken back to the classroom to enhance your curriculum and teaching strategies. In addition, we will highlight how these concepts tie into the Indiana Academic Standards. Attendees will earn 15 CRU's towards license renewal.

At the conclusion of this workshop, teachers will:
- Take home activities, games, and puzzles to use in the classroom
- Define the relationship between math and computer science
- Gain valuable knowledge about topics such as Algorithms, Binary Numbers, Recursion, Cryptography, and Logic Circuits.

Workshop Information
- This three-day workshop, open to mathematics in grades 9-12 at NO COST to the teacher!
- .It will be held July 14-17, 2008 in the Lawson Computer Science Building at Purdue University, West Lafayette campus.
- Participants will be housed on campus in Hillenbrand Residence Halls. Check in will be from 5-7 pm on Monday July 14th.
- Daily sessions will run from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. with all meals provided for participants each day.
- The program is sponsored by the College of Science K-12 Outreach program, the Department of Computer Science, and the Department of Mathematics, and Motorola Foundation
