ROCS

studentsROCS stands for Reaching Out for Computer Science. This activity sends current CS students to help school administrators, teachers, and students know what a career in computer science is all about as well as what courses students need if they wish to pursue a degree in computer science. It also explores the difference between computer science and other computer related careers. CS students relate their interests and experiences in a fun and interactive way.

Grades: 6-12

Programming With Lego Robotics

legosStudent will learn the basics of computer programaming by using Lego Mindstorm kits to build a robot and then use the Robolab software to command their creation. Lego Bowling Challenge or other trial courses available by request!

 

Grades: 4-12

G.U.T.S.

G.U.T.S. stands for Going Under The Surface. In this program, students explore the parts of a computer and how it works on the inside. In the final stage of this program, students assemble a computer too!

Grades: 3-12

Computer Science Concepts for Kids

landminesThis series of activities take the basic computer science concepts and put them on a level that even elementary school students can understand. Activities include Programming with Peanut Butter, Landmines, and Treasure Hunt. The program can be adapted for all age groups and have activities that teach concepts such as programming, algorithms, problem-solving and much more!

Professional Development Programs
