Here at Purdue, there are different ways to further your education. CSWN is proud to present to you the opportunity to meet with three of our fellow CSWN ladies, Alicia Klinvex, Lauren Stuart and Emily Friesen. Alicia is a doctoral student in her fourth year and is pursuing her PhD. Lauren graduated from Purdue last May and is currently attending graduate school in Purdue. Emily is a senior who participated in the BS/MS program. These awesome ladies will share their experiences with you and would gladly answer any questions you may have about these paths of furthering your education. Food and drinks will be provided! :)

Sept 13^th Purdue Alumni and Microsoft Sr, Program Manager within Bing Search Engine, Gitika Gupta will share her insights on the Program Manager role, how to balance one's career ambitions and family and tips to navigate through a field that is 90% male.

Sept 11^th Meet up and talk about who is going to be at the Corporate Partners Mixer. What questions to ask will be addressed. Juice, cookies and social time will be provided. :)

Sept 8^th A CS survival course not taught in the classroom, this first event plans on helping you develop your CS mindset while helping you start your own unique development environment. A presentation will lead with examples, with a hands on workshop following. Join us for a fun and educational look on working in Computer Science!

Apr 1^st Elections for officer positions for the 2010-2011 school year, and an information session on the whys and hows of attending (and applying for funding for) the Grace Hopper celebration of Women in Computing, a yearly conference that many past and current students have attended.

Feb 25^th Carrie Price, a CS alumna (2003) got her master's in CS from Carnegie Mellon University and then went on to Sandia National Laboratories. She came to talk about the process and tools of reverse-engineering malware.

Feb 28^th Roger Reiss came to talk about Northrup Grumman, discussing the current organization and some of the directions they will be moving as well as career paths in the company.

Mar 2^nd An open officers' meeting was held for anyone interested in holding an officer position in the CSWN next school year or curious about how it works. CSWN's officer corps reorganization was also discussed.

Mar 9^th Some of the women CS faculty joined the CSWN for dinner, games, and chat.

Oct 26^th Janine Patterson, a CS alumna and former CSWN President, came to share some of her perspective and experiences from her place as a successful gradat and career womn (Allston Trading) with both current and prospective students in an informal chat over dinner.

Nov 17^th Many students showed up to listen to a couple of graduate CS students talk about their experiences and answer questions about the grad school process.
