CS 590C - Recent Topics in Database Systems Research
The course will explore advanced topics in current database research. The two primary areas of focus will be sensor and streaming databases, and privacy and security in databases. In addition, we will discuss papers in bio-informatics, XML, and other topics of interest to attendees. The course will be organized as a seminar series with students and faculty leading class discussions of recent papers. Active participation from all students is expected. All students are expected to complete a project by the end of the semester. The course is open to all graduate students who have taken at least an introductory course on databases.
