CS 290B Web Database Programming

An introduction to Java programming including basic language features, classes, objects, and methods. An introduction to Perl programming directed toward using Perl with Web-based CGI applications. Web-based database manipulation using Perl, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), and Structured Query Language (SQL). Database access through Java Server Pages. This course is intended for students with no programming experience who are interested in tools and methods for handling massive data sets (e.g. those interested in computational biology).
