Computer scientists’ skills are highly sought after by every company. Purdue computer science graduates report starting salaries averaging $55,000 per year. Students with internship experience have consistently higher salaries. More importantly, the earning potential for computer science graduates is high — higher than most other technical fields.
Companies look to the Department of Computer Science for students to fill vacant full-time, part-time, and internship positions. The Computer Science Corporate Partner Program (CPP) hosts a CS Career Fair for CS students and CPP members every September. The department also provides listings of open positions in our weekly Opportunity Update.
If you are interested in Co-Operative employment, please see Dr. William Gorman, Assistant to the Department Head, LWSN 1137.
Call for Resumes - internships or permanent positions
Many employers use the campus career fairs to recruit for interns as well as full time positions. Employers may now request CCO to prepare a special electronic resume book based on their employment criteria. Be sure to register or update your account in CCO express at: https://www.cco.purdue.edu. To participate in CCO's resume books, click into the Profile Privacy Tab and click yes.
You may also set up Job Search Agents to monitor CCO Express which lets agents email you when new jobs meeting your criteria are posted. CCO suggests one agent specific to your major and degree for On Campus Interviewing. Add a 2nd agent to email you with the normal job listings using keyword and job function.
If you are a Graduating Senior please help us continue to serve you and other students by filling out this survey.
