One official transcript must be submitted for every institution of higher education attended.
If the original transcript is not in English, an official English translation, certified by the college or university, must be provided. An official transcript bears the original signature of the registrar and/or the original seal of the issuing institution. Once submitted they cannot be returned.
Transcripts must be final documents unless study is in progress at the time of application. If you cannot provide a transcript showing your most recent grades by the deadline, provide what you can and submit an up-to-date transcript upon completion of your studies.
If you have been awarded a degree, be sure that the award is stated either in the transcript or in a separate document. If the awarding institution issues only one document and does not state the award on the transcript, send us a certified copy of the document. If the document is not issued in English, it must be accompanied by a translation properly certified by the issuing institution. The Graduate School will make exhibition of the original a condition of your admission.
Transcripts and evidence of award of degrees issued in the Peoples Republic of China must be in Chinese accompanied by an official English translation, and the evidence of award must be in a document different from the transcript.
We require that your transcripts and, if required, English translations are mailed to us by the registrar before 1 October for a spring application and before 15 December for a fall application (Request Form -- PDF).
