OVERRIDES FOR FALL 2013 CS COURSES

This page and the associated form (URL below) may be revised from
time to time. Changes will be noted at the bottom of this page.

If you cannot register for a CS course because Banner says that you
do not have some REQUISITE (prerequisite, corequisite), do not use
the form provided here. Please ask your academic advisor, whom we
hereby authorize to give the override if appropriate. Your advisor
may refer you to the instructor if he or she does not have a sufficient
basis for granting the override.

If the INSTRUCTOR'S PERMISSION is required for a course, take a
properly completed Form 23 (your academic advisor should have some)
to the instructor. The instructor can give permission by entering
override code "INST-PERMIT" and signing the form, which you should
then take to the registrar's office in HOVDE unless instructed otherwise
by your advisor. Do not use the form provided here.

REQUESTS FOR OVERRIDES are generally handled after open registration
begins so that students (typically CS majors) that have first priority have
the first opportunity to register.

Requests for CLOSED SECTION OVERRIDES are handled as reports of
"inability to register for the course because of a lack of space" and are
used only to measure unmet demand for a course, not for a specific
section or part of a course. If we add space, we shall notify you.

If you submit more than one form for the same course*, only the last
form will be used. To REVISE A SUBMITTED FORM, submit a new one.
Keep this in mind if you change your e-mail address.

 * The courses 19000, 29000, 39000, 49000, 59000, 59100, and 69000
are, in Banner, each one course with different sections that are (with
rare exceptions) really different courses; and in this context, we regard
them as different courses and thus need the section ID to identify them.
If the course has more than one part, use the section ID of the lecture.

To withdraw a request, submit a new form, checking "Withdraw my earlier
request for this course".

Selecting the ">>" in the lower right corner of the form submits the form.

By submitting the form, you are authorizing the Department of Computer
Science to access whatever University records may be needed to verify
your statements or may be helpful in allotting space. If you do not wish
to do that, do not submit the form.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE FORM VERY CAREFULLY. Since
Qualtrics does not provide the checking of input that we would like,
failure to follow the instructions may cause your request to be ignored.
