Vulnerabilities Database

Principal Investigators: Eugene Spafford, Carla Brodley (ECE)

Research Assistants: I. Krsul, D. Zamboni

Sponsor: COAST Laboratory sponsors

The vulnerability database and vulnerability analysis project at COAST is involved in collecting and analyzing computer vulnerabilities for a variety of purposes, including the application of knowledge discovery and data mining tools to find non-obvious relationships in vulnerability data, the development of useful vulnerability classifications, and the development of tools that will help generate intrusion detection signatures from vulnerability information. We intend to construct a resource that will be of long-term use to others in the research community studying issues of system vulnerability and protection.
