Sponsors: ONR, ARO, DoE, NSF, PRF

The ACES system is a layered software architecture for high-performance distributed computation and simulation, including the Ariadne/Arachne threads systems, the Conch/Clam communications environments and a multithreaded CMPI subsystem, the EcliPSe replicated simulation system and the (para)Sol process-oriented simulation environment. The system is process- and object- oriented, supporting applications on heterogeneous network environments made up of machines ranging from desktop workstations to massively parallel hardware multiprocessors.
