Dr. Bukhres was a Visiting Associate Professor at the Indiana Center for Database Systems, Department of Computer Sciences and an instructor for Introduction to Database Systems and Information Systems at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana from 1992 to 1995.
Dr. Bukhres was an active researcher and a co-principle investigator of the InterBase project at the Indiana Center for Database Systems. The main objectives of the InterBase Lab are to investigate interoperability problems and examine the research issues in the integrating of pre-existing heterogeneous systems. He edited two books on objectionated multidatabase system and coordination languages respectively. He has many written book chapters and journal and conference articles. Mobile Computing Systems, Transaction Management, Concurrency Control, and Recovery in Heterogeneous Distributed Database Systems are a few of Dr. Bukhres' research interests.
