The 2009 ACM SIGPLAN/SIGOPS International Conference on Virtual Execution Environments
Hamilton Crowne Plaza, Washington, DC
March 11-13, 2009
Co-located with ASPLOS 2009
The VEE conference brings together researchers and practitioners in the area of virtual execution environments for programs and systems. The conference seeks original papers on virtualization at all levels of the hardware and software stack. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
•virtual machines for high-level languages
•virtual machine monitors and hypervisors
•operating system support for virtualization
•programming language support for virtualization
•compiler support for virtualization including dynamic compilation
•binary translation and optimization
•novel techniques and applications of interpreters
•automatic resource and memory management
•virtualization technologies applied to specific problems domains such as grid, multi-core, cloud, HPC, real time, power management, security and desktops
•management technologies for virtual environments
•virtual storage and networking
•performance analysis and debugging for virtual execution environments
In addition to scientific papers demonstrating results, we may accept a small number of very novel and/or controversial position papers.
For VEE’09, we plan to select a set of best papers, and the authors will have the option of having their paper appear in a special issue of Operating Systems Review in July 2009. OSR are also willing to consider publishing extended versions of any VEE paper, space permitting.
